Welcome to the HKUST Business School Ph.D. program. As the Director of the program, I am immensely proud of our academic achievements and  a diverse community of faculty and students. The mission of the Ph.D. program at HKUST Business School is to develop scholars to pursue cutting-edge research and teaching in the best institutions worldwide. Our  faculty, with diverse backgrounds, are recognized as outstanding scholars  and leaders in their respective disciplines. Our students embark on a challenging and exciting journey, focusing academic study in one of seven disciplines within the program. Our curriculum is designed to equip them with the tools to pursue cutting-edge research. We also pride ourselves in having world-class interdisciplinary research centers and state-of-the art research facilities, not to mention one of most beautiful campuses in the world.

We believe in intimate faculty-to-student collaboration in our PhD program. Our students work closely with faculty and the other students and build life-long bonding with their mentors. I have myself developed long-term collaboration with several Ph.D. students, who are now promising faculty at institutions across several continents. In fact, our graduates have been placed at leading academic institutions globally and become the leaders of the next generations of scholars.
